Rain Forces World of Outlaws and Eldora Speedway to Cancel

Outlaw Thunder Weekend presented by Goodyear cut short after Friday’s thriller

ROSSBURG, Ohio - May 7, 2011 - Rain all afternoon lasting into the evening on Saturday has forced the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and Eldora Speedway officials to cancel the finale of the Outlaw Thunder Weekend presented by Goodyear.

Joey Saldana won Friday's opening night feature in the Kasey Kahne Racing Red Bull Maxim to extend his lead in the championship standings to 51 points over 20-time champion Steve Kinser.

The Outlaws move east to compete Friday and Saturday (May 13-14) in the heart of Pennsylvania Posse country at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. In addition to two complete events, the Morgan Cup challenge , a first-of-its-kind battle between the Outlaws and Posse, will take place following the A-main on Saturday, May 14. Fans unable to attend the event at Williams Grove can watch the action with a live Cybercast for only $12.99 at DIRTVision.com.

"The Morgan Cup event is great for the racers and great for the fans," said Meyers, who will lead the World of Outlaws Morgan Cup contingent that also includes Paul McMahan, Jason Sides, Donny Schatz and Kraig Kinser. "It's just neat to see places like Williams Grove stepping up and putting on something that's a little out of the ordinary."
