Up to Speed: World of Outlaws at Salina Highbanks Speedway

 

SALINA, Okla. — May 1, 2018 —The Twister Showdown for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series is this weekend on Saturday, May 5 at Salina Highbanks Speedway. After being contested in the fall the last two years, the event has returned to a spring slot on the schedule. The Twister Showdown will mark the only race of the season for the series in Oklahoma. In each of the last five races for the Outlaws at Salina, a different driver has visited victory lane. Thus far in 2018, six drivers have been victorious with the series. This edition of Up to Speed sets the stage for the Twister Showdown at Salina Highbanks Speedway.

Up to Speed: World of Outlaws at Lake Ozark Speedway

 

ELDON, Mo. — April 30, 2018 —The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series returns to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., on Friday, May 4 for the first time since 2007. A handful of drivers competing full-time with the series this year competed in that event over a decade ago. In the previous two races for the Outlaws at the third-mile, two different winners visited victory lane. Thus far in 2018, six drivers have picked up win, with Donny Schatz and Sheldon Haudenschild leading the way. This edition of Up to Speed sets the stage for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series visit to Lake Ozark Speedway.

Your Stories, Our History: The World of Outlaws Celebrates 40 Years

CONCORD, NC — April 26, 2018 — As part of its 40th anniversary celebration the World of Outlaw is kicking off a season-long #MyOutlawMoment campaign in time for the Texas Outlaw Nationals at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, site of the very first World of Outlaws race in 1978.

After four decades, the World of Outlaws has an incredibly rich collective history, consisting of stories from drivers, teams, crew, officials, partners, fans, and all involved — and new ones are created every day.

The #MyOutlawMoment campaign encourages everyone to share their most memorable Outlaw moments and add them to the Series history.

World of Outlaws Hits the Track at Salina Highbanks Speedway on May 5

SALINA, OK — April 26, 2018 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series makes its annual appearance at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, OK, on Saturday, May 5 for the running of the Twister Showdown. The event will mark the seventh time the series has raced at the ultra-high-banked three-eighths-mile.

Kerry Madsen was victorious last year at Salina over Donny Schatz and Brad Sweet. Madsen took the lead from Sweet on Lap 23 and held off several charges from Sweet, Schatz and Shane Stewart in the late going to pick up the win. For Madsen, it was his first win at Salina.

World of Outlaws Invade Lake Ozark Speedway on May 4 after an 11-Year Absense

ELDON, MO — April 25, 2018 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series' return to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO, is just around the corner on Friday, May 4. The event will mark the first visit for the series to the third-mile since 2007 and just the third-ever race for the Outlaws at the venue.

Leading the way will be nine-time and defending Series Champion Donny Schatz, who is the current series point leader on the strength of four wins thus far in 2018. The North Dakota native has taken part in both of the previous World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series races at Lake Ozark Speedway. Schatz finished sixth in his most recent start at the track in 2007.

World of Outlaws Postpone Event at Cotton Bowl Speedway to Thursday, April 26

PAIGE, TX – April 22, 2018 – The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continues to fight a losing a battle against Mother Nature and have postponed Wednesday, April 25th’s event at Cotton Bowl Speedway to Thursday, April 26 due to a constant rain that hit Cotton Bowl Speedway at 5:30pm.

Third Time Is a Charm for Tri-State Speedway

CONCORD, NC — April 24, 2018 — After two rained-out attempts to race the quarter-mile high banks of Tri-State Speedway this season, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will return on Sunday, May 13th, immediately following the two-day #LetsRaceTwo at Eldora Speedway.

“We’re determined to make this race happen for our fans and drivers,” said promotor Loris Helfrich. “We’re excited to host the World of Outlaws here again this year, and continue to make history with the Series on its 40th anniversary.”

World of Outlaws Rained Out at Haubstadt Once Again

HAUBSTADT, IN – April 22, 2018 – The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series has lost another event to Mother Nature. Constant moisture throughout the afternoon forced Tri-State track officials and the World of Outlaws to postpone Sunday, April 22nd’s event.
