One of the main goals that Donny Schatz had for the 2007 season was to win more races than he did in 2006. In earning his first World of Outlaws championship last season, he earned 17 A-Feature wins. It didn’t really concern Kerry Madsen that he had never seen Perris Auto Speedway prior to Saturday afternoon, because his team has had plenty of experience and a good deal of success at the half-mile in the past. With veteran crew chief Sonny Kratzer turning the wrenches, the rookie driver was fast right out of the box in his first visit to the track located east of Los Angeles.

Danny Lasoski became the first driver in World of Outlaws history in 2003 to put together a clean sweep of a race night, when he did it at Calistoga Speedway, by setting fast time, winning a heat race, winning the Crane Cams Dash and winning the A-Feature. He nearly matched that feat on Saturday night again at Calistoga Speedway, as he won the second heat race, was victorious in the Crane Cams Dash and dominated the A-Feature. The only thing missing was quick time, as he was second fastest in time trials.
