By the Numbers: World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series at Hartford Speedway

HARTFORD, Mich. — Sept. 19, 2016 —The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series returns to Hartford Speedway in Michigan on Wednesday, September 21, for an event that was postponed by rain back on July 29. All tickets and pit passes purchased for the originally scheduled race will be honored. Fans are asked to bring their original ticket with them for admittance. Tickets are still available for purchase online and at the track on race day. The race will mark the final stop of the season for the “Greatest Show on Dirt” to the Great Lakes State. This edition of By the Numbers sets the stage.

World of Outlaws Mourn the Loss of Lanny Edwards
CONCORD, N.C. — Sept. 9, 2016 — The World of Outlaws extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lanny Edwards, who passed on today at the age of 76.
Edwards was a pioneer in growing the sport of dirt track racing. Since 1962, when Edwards promoted his first race — “a street stock and factory stock show that packed the house,” according to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame — track operators across the country have looked to Edwards as a leader and innovative promoter balancing all aspects of the business. The Childress, Texas native was also a part of the inner-circle that established the World of Outlaws series back in 1978.Read more: Mourning a Legend

SPENCER, Iowa — Sept. 7, 2016 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series returns to Clay County Fair Speedway as part of the 2016 Clay County Fair on Friday, September 16 for the Arnold Motor Supply Shootout Presented by Bob’s Bike Shop, Vanderhaag’s Inc., H&N Chevrolet and Gillund Enterprises. 'The Greatest Show on Dirt' marks their return to U.S. 36 Raceway on September 17 for the first time since 2009
CONCORD, N.C. — Sept. 8, 2016 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series attacks the blazing-fast Missouri high-banks of U.S. 36 Raceway for the FVP Missouri High-Banked Nationals on Saturday, September 17.
The 0.375-clay oval of U.S. 36 Raceway features High Banks, High Speed and a High Trophy. "Big Bertha" has become one of the most sought after trophies in Dirt Track Racing, measuring in at a staggering six-feet, three-inches tall, all capped with a cup that is 12-inches in diameter.
