Huge Crowd Expected When World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars Invade Stockton for FVP Western Spring Shootout

CONCORD, N.C. – Jan. 31, 2014 – The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series’ inaugural event last season at the Stockton Dirt Track at California’s San Joaquin Fairgrounds was one of the highlights of 2013, this year expectations are even greater for the FVP Western Spring Shootout on Saturday, March 22, at the 3/8-mile dirt oval.

Three California natives shared the lead — Paul McMahan, Tim Kaeding and Kyle Larson — before Larson finally earned the victory in front of the sellout crowd. McMahan and Kaeding will be eager to notch a victory this time around.

World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars invade entertainment capital March 5-6

 

CONCORD, N.C. – Jan. 24, 2014 – The bright lights of Las Vegas will shine on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series when it invades one of the biggest entertainment cities on the planet for the two-night FVP Outlaw Showdown March 5-6 at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

FVP and the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars will get top billing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Wednesday and Thursday during the city’s biggest racing week of the year. Tony Stewart Racing’s Donny Schatz is a seven-time winner at Las Vegas but Daryn Pittman of Kasey Kahne Racing will be seeking a victory to help him defend his series championship.

Ontario’s Cornwall Motor Speedway Returns to World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Tour in 2014

CONCORD, N.C. – Jan. 22, 2014 – The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series’ 2014 schedule continues to grow with the addition of Cornwall Motor Speedway to the tour on Sunday, July 27.                                             

This will mark the second time the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series has invaded the quarter-mile oval in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, where five-time series champion, Donny Schatz, won on July 29, 2012.

World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars Returning Wednesday, July 23,

to New York’s Fulton Speedway for First Time Since 2010

CONCORD, N.C. – Jan. 16, 2014 –The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series is returning to Fulton (N.Y.) Speedway on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. The event will mark the fourth time the Outlaws have invaded the 3/8-mile high-banked oval in upstate New York.

Steve Kinser, the 20-time series champion who will be making his final run at a World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series crown in 2014 during the “Salute to the King,” is the series’ most recent winner at Fulton, taking the checkered flag on Aug. 3, 2010. Donny Schatz (2006) and Brooke Tatnell (2005) have also earned victories at Fulton.

World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars to Invade Port Royal Saturday, Oct. 25

Series returns to Pennsylvania half-mile dirt oval for first time in 10 years

CONCORD, N.C. – Jan. 15, 2014 –The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series will invade Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway on Saturday, October 25, for the first time since 2004.

The event at the half-mile dirt oval in central Pennsylvania will be the final World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship race in the Keystone State for 20-time series champion Steve Kinser during his “Salute to the King” season. The race will be the eighth in World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series history at Port Royal, with winners including Donny Schatz (2004), Jason Meyers (2003) Brad Furr (2002), Danny Wood (2001), Doug Wolfgang (1987), Don Kreitz Jr. (1986), and Lynn Paxton (1979).

World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars Announce Huge 2014 Schedule

At least 52 tracks in 24 states and three Canadian provinces will offer a ‘Salute to the King’ as Steve Kinser makes one more run at a 21st series championship

INDIANAPOLIS – Dec. 12, 2013 – The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series announced a huge 2014 schedule on Thursday during the Performance Racing Industry trade show at the Indiana Convention Center, highlighting the “Salute to the King” as the legendary Steve Kinser makes his final run at winning a 21st championship beginning in February at the DIRTcar Nationals.

The 2014 tour will feature 92 race nights at 52 different tracks across 24 states and three Canadian provinces.

It all gets underway Feb. 14-15-16, 2014, during the DIRTcar Nationals presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Volusia Speedway Park, where Kasey Kahne Racing’s Daryn Pittman won on opening night last season and held off Tony Stewart Racing’s Donny Schatz in November at the World Finals to win the championship by the narrowest margin in series history.

‘King of the Outlaws’ To Make Final Run at 21st World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Crown During 2014 Campaign Dubbed ‘Salute to the King’

Kinser Logo CAR 200x158INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 11, 2013) – Steve Kinser, the 20-time World of Outlaws (WoO) STP Sprint Car Series champion, announced today the upcoming 2014 WoO campaign will be his final season chasing the series championship. The Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) driver, who won the series’ first championship during the WoO inaugural season in 1978, is looking to join a long list of greats who have closed their career hoisting championship hardware. His final season with the WoO, called “Salute to the King,” kicks off in February with the DIRTcar Nationals in Florida.

Kinser, an icon in short-track racing, has dominated the WoO series during his 36 seasons of competition. The Bloomington, Ind., native has earned 576 career WoO A-Feature triumphs and has filled the record book with accomplishments that likely will not be matched. His goal for this 2014 season is to add to those records while battling for the title.

“We’re really excited to make one more run at a World of Outlaws championship,” said Kinser, who will celebrate his 60th birthday June 2. “Racing with the Outlaws has been my life for almost 40 years. It’s all I’ve known. My family has been around it. I’ve had the pleasure of running up and down the road racing all across this incredible country, and even in Canada, Mexico and Australia with this series. I knew it wasn’t going to last forever. I feel like we have a great team here capable of winning a lot of races and challenging for the championship this year.”
